sciences
I didn't order my book from Memoria, so I am still waiting for it to arrive, but I do have a general feeling for the program from the yahoo group and various discussions online. Our program already looks somewhat similar to LCC, but I'm unsure about what happens in high school with the sciences. My son and I have been discussing the changes that we will be making and he asked me "What about Biology?" I don't know. Fabre? Are there recommendations in the book? He is the one child who did not like the living books that we used for science. He is the first one that has asked to use a textbook for science.

I suggest...
two possible tracks for science. One is a two- or three-year sequence of "general science"; the other is a more standard textbook-based sequence. Which you choose depends a great deal on your child's goals beyond high school. If he's college-bound and/or interested in a science-related career, you may want to go with the more conventional approach. The other approach involves researching topics in the various broad fields of science and writing papers on them.
