Classical Writing Online Tutorials

The authors of Classical Writing are pleased to announce that Kathy Weitz will be offering online tutorials for middle and high schoolers this fall using the Diogenes books. Our purpose is to assist the home educating parent in providing writing instruction for middle school to high school students. These tutorials are structured both for students who have completed the Foundations levels of Classical Writing and also for middle and high school students who are new to Classical Writing and who need to complete the Foundations and Intermediate levels in one school year. For the 2008-2009 school year, we are offering two tutorials:
• Diogenes: Maxim
Beginning essay analysis and writing offered to students 7th grade and up. This course will cover the fable, narrative, and maxim levels of the progymnasmata, and apply them to the modern five paragraph essay.• Diogenes: Maxim and Chreia Accelerated Pace
Essay analysis and writing offered to students 9th grade and up. This course will cover the fable, narrative, maxim, and chreia levels of the progymnasmata, and apply them to modern five paragraph and expository essays.For more information, and to register, visit www.classicalwriting.com.
