'Tis the Season...for Latin
Apparently this really is the season for Latin-themed reporting. First the New York Times, then the Washington Post, and now Slate have published a Latin story. The latest entry is a review of two recent books about Latin, one a popular introduction to the language, the other a more scholarly history. While I wish reporters would move beyond the "geeky Latin student" stereotype - and stop referring to us at-home dads as "Mr. Mom" while they're at it - it is heartening to see Latin in the news.
