High school transcripts

Mr. Campbell, I have been following your book, Latin Centered Curriculum, and think very highly of your work. However, I have ran into a problem. We have a 9th Grade Student and we have to make your High School curriculum fit onto our Umbrella School transcript. This has been tougher than we thought. How should we list the Histories and the Literature each year on our Transcript? What about Government and Economics?

On a different note, is it possible to utilize the Kolbe Study Guides with your History and Literature selections? We are trying to help her to be able to work more independently and are looking for suggestions.

I just answered your email on this question, but for the benefit of other readers, a quick summary:

1. For high school, you can use the Modern Studies selections as "history" and the English and Classical Studies (and Christian Studies, if you like) as "English" or "Literature." If there is ever a second edition of LCC, I will address the transcript issue.

2. I cover "Government" in 8th grade with the Russell Kirk book and via Modern Studies. I don't really hold with teaching a full-semester or -year economics class to high schoolers, so if you need that, you'd want to add it in.

3. The Kolbe guides are an excellent fit.

HTH!
