We live in Michigan and have 4 kids. 10-22-97, 8-14-99, 7-25-01, and 6-7-04.
We started Latin last year and they all did quite well, but we did not spend any where near enough time on it. So this year I am planning on a full hour daily, even if the toddler makes me insane!! Our biggest focus this year will be math, Latin and reading. I am so terribly excited to start. I love those back to school commercials on tv! I can't wait to read all your posts this year!

We are in the Flint area. We are going to go camping this Weds.near your side of MI. Ever hear of Sandy Pines? It is near Grand Rapids. Anyway, we are hoping to get a chance to go to Michigan Adventure. Hopefully it won't be too cold! Then when we come back it time to roll up the sleeves!
I love the smell of new erasers too! (I miss the smell of fresh 'dittos' that my teachers used to pass out. Remember that smell???)

Hi Caroline and welcome! Your older two children are almost exactly the same ages as mine and we live in Michigan too! (We're in the southwest corner.) I also share your enthusiasm for back-to-school time. Even before I homeschooled, I always found this time of the year to be my favorite. Aaahhh, the smell of sharpened pencils, crayons, and fresh notebooks! :)
