Latin--working backwards to find beginning point?

I know that if you want to use Henle that it is best to use LC. But what about Cambridge Latin? How do I work backwards from there? Would I want to do LfC & Minimus combo? And really what is the main differences between Henle & Cambridge? I want my dd's to be reading texts when we get to this level.

I also have an old set of Latin for Americans that is quite intersting but I have no teacher's guide. Would I want to use that?

Thanks.

Using LCC for our guide (we were doing it that way anyway but now we have a name!)

As I understand it, both

As I understand it, both Minimus and Secundus can be preparatory for Cambridge. I don't know too much about the program, but I have been looking at it as a supplement for later. It seems like a "modern" approach to teaching Latin, in that it is similar to programs for teaching a modern foreign language. It's an inductive program, while most other Latin programs are deductive. I'm looking at it for cultural background around the time we are ready for Henle, and because I'm not sure my dd is going to emotionally ready for Henle at the same time she is intellectually ready. I may do one level and then start Henle, or we may alternate them. I don't think we'd ever use more than one level.

Thanks.

We may do the Henle/Cambridge combo as well when we get there.
