Hello from KS
Hi, I'm Dawn, married to dh Matt for almost 8 years. We have 3 daughters: Mary Beth is 7, Anna is 4, Lucia is 2, and we don't know if the baby I'm carrying is a girl or boy yet. Mary Beth and Anna say it's a boy. You're welcome to join our betting pool, if you like. (ha ha)
We're currently using mostly materials from Catholic Heritage Curricula and I'm a big fan of Charlotte Mason's philosophy, especially the way Elizabeth Foss has applied them in her book (Real Learning) and on her discussion board, but I'm looking for a way to simplify things. I've been following the Latin-Centered Education thread at the 4 Real Learning Forum and I'm here to find out more. My girls LOVE listening to me read aloud to them--they will sit and listen to stories for, well, as long as I'll keep reading! I like the idea of reducing the number of subjects, I'm just a little nervous about "slicing and dicing." I'll be reading Drew's book and Climbing Parnassus as soon as I can afford them!
I stay at home with our kiddos. I like reading, singing, playing the piano, and domestic arts like knitting and sewing. My dh is a police dispatcher for 911. That's all I can think of for right now...it's getting late here. I should really be in bed, but I'm a hopeless night owl.
Dawn

Welcome!
It's wonderful that your dc enjoy read-alouds so much. My dd is the same; my voice often gives out before her attention does! :)
Hope you enjoy the boards!
