Circe Conference?
I'm curious if anyone is planning to attend Circe this summer? I find it tempting -- there are so many wonderful speakers I would love to see (and one is even an old friend) -- but certainly it's a great commitment of time and resources...
Did anyone attend last year?
It's the one conference I'd love to attend
but I'm afraid it's just not our budget this year. I'll be saving my pennies for next year, though!

Can we
get the CD's from the conference without actually being there?
Just wondering!

You can!
Hi Carie,
I have several CDs from past conferences that are just fabulous. I believe you can still pre-order the 2006 CDs for 97$. After the conference the whole set will be closer to 150$ I think. Here's the link to the Circe Institute. Click on "conferences" scroll down a bit and you'll see a link to pre-ordering the CDs. I think you have to buy complete sets of the 2004 and 2005 conferences. But you can buy individual CDs that interest you from 2003. I think before 2003 it's tapes (archaic huh?!). I wish they'd just make MP3s of individual talks available for download, maybe a couple dollars each? It's not cheap to get a set, but a whole lot more affordable than the conference tuition itself plus room and meal if you're attending out of town!
(I recommend Tracey Lee Simmons, James Taylor, and Ken Davis from 2004 most particularly, oh and Andrew Kern)

We're hoping for next year, too
It's the last weekend in July next year...FYI. If our hopes for a cross-country trip materialize, and if it is in a workable location, we hope to be there.
I've already pre-ordered this year's CDs. Can't wait.

Do you have any idea where it will be next year?
Hi Diane,
Just wondered if you'd heard somewhere where the conference might be held next year. I'm pretty sure at this point that it's not going to work out for me this summer, but if it's in a reasonable location next year...I'll start saving!
Dallas would be particularly perfect if we're moved. Atlanta would be great cause my pal Abbey is there ;-), Louisville would work, my baby brother and SIL are there for seminary. But I'd rather not trek to Orlando if I have my druthers.

Not known yet
Jami,
Last I heard (a couple of weeks ago) the decision was not yet made. I'll post when I hear.
Diane
Aren't you like on your 20th Anniversary Getaway or something???
You crack me up.

I tried to post before registering...
so I'm not sure the other comment will post. But you know I'd love to be there if I can. With the move still on hold, I just can't make plans too far in advance. If you *really* think you want to go, then I'd like to see if I can swing it. Memphis is only about 3 hours from St. Louis. It'll probably never be that close to me again.
The CDs I've listened to from previous years were mostly excellent. Andrew Kern, James Taylor and Tracey Simmons especially. So I'd guess this year's will be worth attending if you can. It's on knowledge, is that right?
